Quest 24: Yellow Potion also known as Warm Apple Cider Punch

The leaves are starting to turn color and days becoming cooler. This always puts me in the mood for apple cider. It seems fitting to me that we make yellow potion today. Apple cider has sort of an amber color, but with a little alcohol and some imagination, I think we will get the idea. We haven't made an alcoholic drink in a while; still getting over the affects of the great fairies tears :) So today we will celebrate the yellow potion; an expensive potion appearing in both the Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks as an elixir for all that ails you - filling up all your hearts. I hope to give you that same effect (at least in theory) as you enjoy this drink at your next party. And as always, enjoy this responsibly.

Gear!
Note: This recipe is for 2 drinks. If you have a large crowd coming, adjust quantities accordingly.
3/4 cup Apple Cider
1 Star Anise - whole
1/4 tsp Freshly Ground Nutmeg
1/4 tsp Cardamom
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 Slices of Orange
4 oz. Jameson Whiskey
3/4 cup Apple Wine, I am using homemade; whatever wine your choose - I don't recommend a sparkling wine for this.
2 Tall Mugs

The Quest!
In a sauce pan, add your apple cider, apple wine, star anise, nutmeg, cardamom, and orange slices. Heat until just simmering.
Remove the orange slices and place in your mugs. Also remove star anise and discard.
Turn off the heat to your pan. Add in Jameson to the saucepan. Stir and pour into mugs. Serve with a cinnamon stick in each mug. Enjoy!

Quest 5: Great Fairy's Tears

Great Fairy's Tears are one of the best treasures to be sought in the LOZ game Twilight Princess. This delectable potion restores all your health and provides with a short time of double damage with your sword. The first bottle of the good stuff can be found after helping Jovani (the guy that is essentially comatose and has all the cats outside his house in Castletown) capture 20 Poes. You can also acquire some of this by conquering the Cave of Ordeals. For those of you playing along at home, this is a desert cave that is 50 floors of  "OMG I'm going to die" that each need to be conquered without leaving. The good thing is once you succeed, you can go to any of the springs where the spirits of light are and get another bottle when you run out.

Now since this potion provides Link with a little something extra (temporary sword strength), I think that is only fair that there is a little something extra in this potion.

Note: Please consume Great Fairy's Tears responsibly and in moderation. Also, given the octane level, please mind the serving size. Like real Great Fairy's Tears, you may experience a temporary feeling of strength, trust me this will pass . . .

This recipe make 6 strong drinks
Ingredients:
6 oz. Everclear
6 oz. Hpnotiq
12 oz.Tahitian Treat Soda
6 oz. Ginger Ale
3 oz. Cranberry Juice
Ice

You will also need:
A Jigger or shot glass with measurements
Pitcher
Wooden Spoon
6 Chilled Glasses

Let's try it!

Chill your glasses with ice.

Add ice into your pitcher.
I made enough of the recipe for two drinks, so I made it in a quart canning jar.

Carefully measure your alcohol and add to pitcher.

Add the rest of the ingredients to the pitcher.

With a wooden spoon, gently mix the drink.
I had a small jar, so I use the handle.

Either with the wooden spoon or a strainer, pour into the glass without the ice.

Add a little garnish. I took a bamboo fork and added two cherries
sandwiched around a  piece of pineapple.
